Instead of going to the store and competing with the masses for that last minute door buster, I decided to place a cache on a beautiful mountain top.
Park at the Massanutten Trailhead on the side of the road and hike up towards the ridge. When you get to the top, turn left and hike approx 1 mile to the first stage. When you get there, look around and see if you can find the fossil reef.
Down in the valley you can see the old ski resort before the big one down the road was built. You can also see many named peaks from this vantage point.
Find the well hidden first stage and the coords for stage 2. Please rehide it as well as you found it. If you hike a little further down the trail, you will be rewarded with a great view and a great campsite if you wish to stay the night.
Take lots of pictures while you are here and enjoy the view from the final.
