The Running Horse pub dates back to the year 1403 and was built on
land belonging to the church. It was originally known as Rummings
House, after the infamous Eleynor Rumminge, who was written about
by King Henry VIII's poet John Skelton. This poem can be read on a
wall in the pub. Historic legends claim that King Henry VIII's
daughter Queen Elizabeth I, spent a night at the country inn due to
floods making the River Mole impossible to cross.
This is my first attempt at organising the Surrey, monthly meet, so
i do apologise if i don't get something quite right. There are
several caches close by so i won't be hiding one for the occasion
as i think WW and tjapukai have that pretty much covered. We have
the upstairs area to ourselves and they do , do food so if you will
be eating could you please let me know so i can give them some idea
of numbers. I look forward to seeing old and new faces alike, even
if you're not from surrey, it doesn't matter, all are welcome.

organized by local cachers and can be held anywhere in the county
of Surrey. We are constantly looking for fresh volunteers to host
events in different parts of the county.
