Geocache Description:

This place is so beautiful and full of activity and life I just had to share it. Its an easy walk with very big cliffs about but stick to the path and they wont bother you. Cache is very well camouflaged.

This is a one litre sistema box (wow they really clean up with us don't they)
Its a 2 hour return walk from the Mermaid car park. (head down Rockford rd from Tahmoor and then just to the right of the bridge you will see the "car park". enter from Charles point rd, basically just after turning onto Charles point rd you will see the entry - its rocky and rough but is 2wd friendly just drive carefully and negotiate your path)
I walked a little way past where I hid the cache and it was about a 7km walk all up.
I guess you could take the MTB and quicken the pace a bit its a fairly easy trail. you might have to get off in some parts, depends how good you are at mountain biking.
nice and casual and it continues past where the mermaid cache is located.
It is a beautiful time for a walk out here.
The river is flowing, the birds are happy, I saw the black wallaby again as well as a very curious echidna, a huge goanna up a tree and a bunch of Ninja finches (you know the ones with the bright red strip on their eyes)
The flowers are still out and one should watch out for the snakes as well. please dont hurt them if you see one especially if its a harmless red belly black. They really are beautiful.
Dont take the trail with the steep rocky steps go right.
Stay on the path and you only need to leave it when very close to the cache. crunching through the leaf litter as you go.
Leaf litter is the key to the plants survival in the bush, it provides nutrients and keeps it moist.
I should add that the cache is located at a safe distance from the cliff. If you can't find it don't go thinking its closer to the edge. I hate heights so keep that I'm mind when hunting.
Any way - the cache is choc full of goodies including a solar car, keyrings, postit notes and the usual suspects.
Take your time and see what you can spot along the way.
This is a cache designed with appreciation of nature and slowing down and taking a breath in mind. not a rip through sign and run one.
CONGRATULATIONS FTF WAS THE HUBBY HALF OF TEAMBUXTON.
ahhh thats competitive instinct at its very best, when the wife comes home with a DNF to go out and make sure the team gets a FTF. WELL DONE,
A NICE FIND AFTER 3 WITH MORE THAN 3000 FOUND CACHES BETWEEN THEM SEARCHED FOR HOURS TO RETURN WITH A DNF.
Enjoy and remember to take some water with you.

As most are hopefully aware, GCA has the features of being able to recommend a cache you find or give it a rating out of 5 for "overall experience".
