Both Garmin and Magellan
wanted to create a series of GPSr's called the BAT series. They
battled in court for over a decade before Garmin was finally
granted the naming rights in court, with BAT's approval, of course.
The line never went into production because they couldn't make
anything awesome enough to be called BAT.
Recently, some local fans have
placed a series of caches in the area, illustrating the brilliant
caching abilities of BAT and the devilish and clever hiding styles
he employs. These caches have been an extremely worthy tribute, or
homage of sorts, to the greatness of the man, but none of them have
even come close to describing the legend that is... BAT!
This unworthy series stands to
correct that oversight!
Very few know the true greatness,
