Geocache Description:

There was a time when evil loomed across the Kingdom of Hyrule. Evil took the form of a dark wizard named Agahnim. He corrupted the Golden Realm that mirrors the Light world in which Hyrule exists and attempted to spread his plague across kingdom. The hero of the worlds, Link, the one man who was able to travel freely between the worlds of light and darkness stood in his way.

He single-handedly rescued the beautiful Princess Zelda from the dungeons of Hyrule Castle, after taking up the sword from his fallen Uncle. He then earned the right to wield the powerful Master Sword, the blade with the power to dispatch evil, by collecting three pendants from across Hyrule. After taking on Agahnim and defeating him once in battle, Agahnim transported Link to the dark world in an effort to dispose of him. Instead, Link rescued the seven kidnapped maidens that Agahnim imprisoned within crystals across the once beautiful realm of darkness.

After righting the wrongs of Agahnim in the land, Link fought Agahnim a second time. Only when defeating Agahnim in the battle, did he transform into the beast Ganon and then, in a bat form, fly into the Pyramid of Power where Link followed.

An epic battle raged between the dark beast and the hero. Ganon commanded a powerful trident that he threw across the battlefield at Link only to have the evil weapon boomerang back to Ganon’s hand after each throw. The dark wizard used his trident to summon the element of fire including fire in the shape of bats. He caused the lights to disappear and the floor to shake. Still, Link prevailed as he delivered blow after blow of his mighty blade into the beast’s flesh and vanquishing him with a silver arrow to the heart.

When the dust settled after Ganon’s body burst into flames and his screams stopped ringing through the temple, all that remained was the Triforce and Ganon’s trident. Link used the Triforce to restore peace and order in Hyrule and the Golden realm. Sensing the imprint of evil was left in the trident and fearing it may bring about the return of Ganon, Link attempted to destroy the weapon. Unable to find a way to do so, he hid the evil device within the walls of an ancient Hylanian Forrest Temple, deep in the heart of Lost Woods with the hope that no one will ever discover the Trident’s secret location.
