Candle of Hope Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sonsoekster: It's quite sad to archive this cache, since I really like this spot and I think it deserves a cache. However, having thought about it long and hard, I realised that hiding a cache here is just too tricky. Firstly, because of the prime spot close to Sandton city and all the prestige hotels, the Sandton security guards are very vigilant in this area, and it's a good thing. Secondly, it is very difficult to find reliable coordinates between all the high buildings. So I'm giving up this spot - maybe a more experienced cacher can find a nifty hiding place, but I think the best alternative is probably to get permission from the hotel or from Sandton city management.
I am however considering making this a challenge instead [:)].

Geocache Description:

It's not a traditional candle, but it's definitely heart warming. The cache is a bit smaller than a micro and it is not hidden at the listed coordinates. You have to complete the crossword puzzle to find the hidden words that will point you to the final cache location.

The "Candle of Hope" monument in Sandton includes a 27 meter glass wall. You will find the answers to the crossword puzzle clues on these glass walls. There is a 6 meter tall bronze monolith in front of the glass wall, which contains dozens of finely sculpted scenes of South Africa's history since 1990. An enclosed candle and fountain top the monolith, modelled on a gnarled wild fig tree. The momument was produced by a team led by local artist Sally Ann Graham. It was the brainchild of hotel tycoon Bart Dorrestein, chairman of the Legacy Group, the official host of Fifa at the 2010 Soccer World Cup, which provided the funds for the monument.
