The Church was consecrated on the 1st of December 1857.
The steps of the Church were the scene of
an horrific unsolved murder on the 23 of December 1994 when Tracy Mertens was doused in petrol and set alight.
There are great views over Congleton and towards The Cloud from the churchyard.
