Drift Creek Camp has held a special place in our hearts for many
years. When our kids were small, they both spent a week each summer
at camp. As adults, their children now enjoy those same kinds of
experiences. Each year, our families go there for a weekend retreat
with members of our local congregation. This past weekend was one
of those retreats and it seemed fitting that we should place a
cache near the entrance.
There is plenty of parking close to the cache and there is no
bushwhacking or tree climbing required. This should be a relatively
easy find. The cache container is a small plastic jar with a white
lid. There is room for small TBs, coins and trade items and a
writing instrument is included.
Since it is in the trees, there may be some bounce with the GPS
but if you use your geo-senses and the clue, you shouldn’t
have any problem finding it.
There are two ways to get to the cache: You can take the Drift
Creek Falls/Drift Creek Camp turnoff at Rose Lodge off Highway 18
and follow the signs to Drift Creek Camp or you can go in from the
Highway 101 side by taking the South Drift Creek Road turnoff off
Highway 101 south of Lincoln City and again, follow the signs to
Drift Creek Camp.
Either way you go, be sure to visit the other caches along the
way.
There is a dollar divided by 4 for the FTF.
