Geocache Description:

A small geocache, part of the Blickling Park Trail - a circular walk of about 2.5 miles visiting both family and more challenging geocaches. GPS is none too clever under the trees so you may well need the hint.

The cache is near the dam built in 1762 to extend the lake.

Blickling is a National Trust property consisting of a grand hall and extensive parklands. The parklands date back to the 12th century as a deer park and the present hall to the early 17th century. Blickling Hall and its gardens are extremely attractive and well worth visiting.

With the kind permission of the NT, this series of geocaches has been set in the parklands, with the route taking you round the lake and in front of the hall (arguably its most impressive view); part of the walk is on the Weavers Way.

Free parking is available at the Fisherman's car park (see coordinates below); parking is also available at the NT car park, signposted off the main road past the hall going West, but there is a charge to non-NT members.

The trail paths are mostly well established but some can be muddy. There are often sheep and cattle grazing in the park - leaflets about walking with livestock are normally available at relevant places. Take care to avoid the electric fences throughout - you will have no need to cross an electric fence to get to a cache.
