Geocache Description:

[LAT] Slepnis atrodas pie siltumapgades trubam. Saudzejies izolaciju - uz trubam ludzu nekapiet, tas nav nepieciešams. [ENG] The cache is located near a heat-line. Please do not step on the pipes - there is no need to do so to find the cache.

[LAT] Centralizetas siltumapgades priekšrocibas pirmie musu platuma grados noverteja 14.-16. gadsimta bruninieki. Turaidas, Traku un citas pilis Baltija bija centralizeta apsilde ar karsto gaisu. Musdieniga ta saukta centralapkure (tagad to sauktu par lokalo apkuri) Latvija 19. gadsimta beigas bija Riga, kur lielas dzivojamas ekas saka uzstadit radiatorus un apkurinat no vietejam katlumajam. Tam sekoja tadi lieli objekti ka Centraltirgus ar zemspiediena tvaika apkuri (1924. g.), Ulmanlaika daudzdzivoklu majas (1927. g.) - tiem laikiem loti modernas ekas ar centralo (tagad teiktu - lokalo) apkuri, gazificetam virtuvem un karsta udens sagatavošanu vannas istabas.
Centralizetas siltumapgades nodrošinašana Riga saistama ar pirmas siltumtrases projektešanas darbu uzsakšanu vienlaicigi ar Rigas TEC-1 buvniecibu 1952.gada. 1956.gada ar SC „Andrejsala” palidzibu uzsakta Rigas Juras tirdzniecibas ostas dzivojamo eku masiva siltumapgade, bet 1959.gada siltumtrases tiek pagarinatas lidz Matisa ielai. Rigas pilsetas siltumtiklu ceha vajadzibam uzbuveta ražošanas baze Cesu iela 3. Šaja laika tiek apkalpoti 2,3 km siltumtiklu, kuriem bija pieslegti 89 abonenti. Lai apmierinatu pieprasijumu 1974. gada Rigai siltumu sak piegadat TEC-2.
Siltumtrase pec butibas ir sarežgita rupnieciski izoletu caurulu sistema, kas apvieno caurules, likumus, T–veidgabalus, izoletas parejas, izolacijas savienojumus (mufes), signalsistemu un citus elementus.
Siltumtrases tiek izmantotas izoletas caurules. Siltumtrases virszemes posmiem parasti tiek izmantotas izoletas terauda caurules cinkota skarda apvalka, ka izolacijas materials tiek izmantotas poliuretana putas ar ciklopentanu (ja darba temperatura neparsniedz +150°C ) vai ari akmens vates caula un poliuretana putas ar ciklopentanu (ja darba temperatura ir lidz +250°C).

[ENG] Already knights of 14th century living in Turaida, Trakai and other Baltic castles found the advantages of centralised hot-air heating in our harsh winters. Modern centralized heating for first time in Latvia’s history is used in Riga’s apartment houses in late 19th century here radiators were installed and energy delivered from local heat plant. More developed technology of low pressure vapor heating was applied for big buildings as Riga Central Market in 1924. Block houses of 1939’s were also equipped with centralized heating, gas-cookers and boilers in bathrooms.
Riga district heating provision is closely linked to the construction of TEC-1 (Riga heat and power plant number 1) in 1952. Few years later - in 1956 - also the heat and power plant in Andrejsala started to provide district heating in surrounding neighborhoods. In the following years the system was extended as far as Matisa Street. Workshops for Riga's district heating were installed in premises at Cesis Street 3. At a time time heating network of total length of 2.3 km are utilized, by 89 consumers. To meet the increasing demand Riga TEC-2 begins delivery of heat in 1974.
District heating pipe-line are a complicated network of industrially isolated pipes, bends, T-junctions, isolated connectors, signaling system and other elements.
Only isolated pipes are used for heat lines - usually steel pipe wrapped in polyurethane foams with cyclopenthane (if temperature is below +150C) or mineral wool shell with polyurethane foams and cyclopenthane (if temperature is up to +250C). The isolation is usually covered with galvanized tin to avoid humidity.
