This place has become impossible. Nothing to eat, freezing cold and now a madman on the prowl outside with eels.

Well, hopefully not. But the event is in January ...

This is a winter warmer event to help ease in a new year of geocaching.

The plan is to meet at the given coordinates (the car park behind the pub) at 11:00am, or a tad later if we're waiting for anyone to arrive by overdue bus.

We'll follow the marked route down Kite's Hill, through Pope's Wood, then skirting round the top of Spoonbed Hill, to arrive at Painswick Beacon trig point around 12:30pm. First to get there just ahead of the main group can claim FTF!

Then it's a leisurely walk back to the pub for optional food & drink (unfortunately dogs are not allowed inside). Late arrivals who couldn't make it to the trig point can sign the log book here from about 1pm, but please don't just cache 'n' dash.

The weather will surely be absolutely awful. You will want to bring sensible outdoor clothing. This is Britain and it will be January – don't say we didn't warn you.

Taking the bus? Then consider that Stagecoach Service 46 [pdf link] gets to the Royal William pub at the following times on a Sunday:

You can get on the 46 at places such as Cheltenham, Stroud, Nailsworth, and several others.

Please state in your attendance log whether you'll be arriving by bus (so we'll know to wait), and if it's likely you'll be ordering food.
