Nu är arenan nästan klar. De första fotbollsmatcherna har spelats och den första konserten har också genomförts. Officiell invignig sker 2013-08-24.
Arenan har nu ett sponsrat namn från ett telekomföretag.

Här har du en ganska bra utsikt över den blivande arenan.

Stockholmsarenan är arbetsnamnet på en ny idrotts- och evenemangsarena som är under konstruktion söder om Ericsson Globe i södra Stockholm. Arenan får ett skjutbart tak och ska kunna nyttjas för olika typer av evenemang året runt, till exempel allsvensk fotboll, konserter, häst-, motor- och issport. Det kommer också att vara möjligt att arrangera internationella fotbollsmästerskap i arenan då utformningen uppfyller UEFA:s och FIFA:s regelverk för internationell fotboll.

Stockholmsarenan beräknas kosta 2,7 miljarder kronor att bygga. Arenan finansieras dels via försäljning av byggrätter, bland annat där nuvarande Söderstadion är belägen, samt via intäkter från evenemang. Arenan är vidare främst tänkt för att användas av Hammarby IF:s herrlag i fotboll.

The counstruction is almost finished. The first fotball games has been played and the first concert has been held. The official opening ceremony will be held 2013-08-24.
The name of the arena is now sponsored by a telecom company.

Stockholmsarenan is a multi-purpose stadium in Stockholm, Sweden, that is currently under construction. Once completed, it will be used mostly for football matches and will host the home matches of Hammarby IF as a replacement for their current venue Söderstadion. The arena will have a capacity of 30,000 spectators for football matches and its facilities fulfil the requirements of FIFA and UEFA for hosting international games and tournaments.

With a maximum capacity for up to 40,000 people and a rectractable roof, the arena is also planned to host concerts, equestrian, motor sport, ice sports, banquettes, exhibitions, company events and shareholder meetings.

The cost has been calculated to 2.7 billion SEK including land appropriation and a new parking garage under the arena. The cost is balanced against income from sales of building rights and rental from the operator who will run the arena. Financing will be mostly covered by sale of land and associated building rights for commercial premises. The owner is Stockholms City via subsidiary SGA Fastigheter AB.
