Zdejší kraj postihlo behem 19. století nekolik nicivých povodní, z nichž asi nejhorší byla dne 16. kvetna 1889 - takzvaná Jánská povoden.
Po katastrofálním prívalovém dešti nad Luhem v okolí Mecína se rozvodnily Kbelský, Príchovický a Trebýcinský potok a zanechaly za sebou znacné hmotné škody.
Povoden si tenkrát vyžádala 55 lidských životu. V Príchovicích se utopilo 9 detí.
Pro zabránení opakování této katastrofy se v roce 1903 zacala stavet regulace potoka. Regulace potoka byla dokoncena v r. 1908. Další informace také keš GC1C76B (visit link)
Z místa umístení keše je výhled na soutok reky Úhlavy s Príchovickým potokem - jak s puvodním korytem procházejícím vesnicí, tak s jeho "obchvatem" vesnice...tzv. "regulkou".
Je rovnež videt spodní stavidlo na puvodním koryte potoka, které spolu s horním stavidlem umožnuje uzavrení puvodního koryta potoka a zabrání prístupu povodnové vlny do intravelánu obce. Za "obet" stavbe padl i náhon do príchovického mlýna.
Tato stavba funguje již více než století a bezesporu si zaslouží obdiv.

This region was during 19th century strucked by a few devastating floods. The worst was on 16th of May 1889 so called the Janska flood.
After the catastrophic flush of rain above the Luh forrest near Mecin was flooded the Kbel, Prichovice and Trebicinka streams. It brought a large material demages and cause loss of 55 life. In Prichovice 9 children drown.
To prevent the catastroph like this there was started the building up of regulation of the stream. The regulation of the stream was finished in 1908.
From the cache place is view to the junction of Uhlava river with Prichovice stream - both with his former stream and with the regulated part also. There is also visible the "lower" flood-gate which is togather with "upper" flood-gate preventing the flood-wave to get into the vilage. To build up this structure also the mill-race of the Prichovice water mill was sacrificed.
This structure is well working for more than century. It deserve our admiration.
