Geocache Description:

Our family has spent time in all the parks that Carmel has to offer for various reasons – playgrounds, swimming, a splash park, hiking, biking, and most recently, geocaching. This 13-stage (yes, you read that right) multi-cache will take you to ALL of the parks/greenways currently maintained by the Carmel Clay Parks Department (one stage is in a park AND a greenway at the same time).

The last park I needed to place a stage in opened up in the beginning of this new year (2012) and I'm happy to report that EVERY park maintained by the Carmel Clay Parks Department is now accounted for in this multi cache. Please ignore the stage # listed at the top of the slip with the coordinates for the next stage. I just took it from its previous stage and placed it in this one. In order to complete this multi-cache, you will need to find each stage in the required order. There are various sizes of containers throughout the stages, ranging in size from micro to an ammo box at the final stage. There are no nanos. One could conceivably complete this challenge in half a day (assuming use of a car and quick finds at each stage), although that's not the point of this mutli-cache. It took me roughly 3 hours to make the circuit and I know where the hides are. I have arranged the stages in a manner that limits (to some degree) the distance you will need to travel. Dedicated parking is NOT provided for the following parks: Cherry Tree,Prairie Meadow, and White River Greenway. Please be respectful of private property in those situations where parking is not provided by the parks department. Please replace each stage in the same place as found so that subsequent searchers can enjoy the game as well. Hiking for this multi-cache ranges from paved asphalt to forest floors, so please plan accordingly. Terrain for most of the stages is a 1.5-2, but the final is at least a 3, which explains its terrain rating. The coordinates posted will take you to stage 1, located in West Park, which is, strangely enough, located on the west side of Carmel. This is currently the only Carmel Clay park located on the west side of SR 31 (Meridian St.). Features of note include a splash park, playground, and a large hill used primarily for sledding during the snowy season! Happy hunting! Congratulations to oldllychem for FTF honors!
