Geocache Description:

This Is a replacement for the abandon cache that used to be listed here.

This was one of my favorite caches and I did not want to see it go archived forever.

We are placing this cache back in action as we feel that it is a very important cache for those visiting Punxsutawney. Everyone who comes to see the groundhog wants to visit the world famous spot where the weather prediction is made on a yearly basis. What a better way to show support for Punxsutawney than to have a cache celebrating the world famous groundhog.

This cache was muggled a while ago. So we took it upon ourselves to get it back in to action. Thanks to Keystone for letting me take possession of this one and to Peachy PA for alerting me of the fact.and dsmyhubby for getting me the old listing. so quickly. Good luck and enjoy the cache.

Below is the original description.

We placed this cache at Gobbler's Knob and it is a very easy find.

With the permission of Bill Deeley, former Punxsutawney Phil handler, we placed this cache to honor our beloved town critter. Groundhog Day is celebrated around the world every February 2nd and to learn more about short-on-cache's 2nd favorite holiday go to www.punxsutawneyphil.com. We suggest bringing your camera so that you can get your photo taken at this world famous spot. If you plan on finding this cache on Feb 2nd, please be prepared for thousands of muggles :)

You might also want to spend some time traveling around our little town to tour the Groundhog Zoo where Phil lives and to find all of the Groundhog statues around town.

There are many ways to get to Gobbler's Knob. If you are coming from Indiana, you will turn right at the light at WalMart and stay on that road until you see the large Gobbler's Knob sign. All other routes will follow Rte 36 S of Punsutawney. Take the 2nd right after the Post Office (Woodland Ave.) and follow that road until you see the large Gobbler's Knob sign. There is parking available near the gate.

We hope you enjoy this one!
