Church Micro 1428 - St James Clerkenwell Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

afrayed: I've been unable to get over to maintain the cache and work circumstances mean I won't be able to maintain it going forward. Unfortunately that means it's time to gracefully retire the cache. Thanks to all who have hunted and found the cheeky little cache over the years, and especially to Unknown Wanderer for originally placing it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is an extension of the Sadexploration series of Church Micro's.

The cache is a magnetic nano, bring something to get the log out with (e.g. tweezers) as it's rather fiddly.

The difficulty rating is due to the location and need for stealth (especially at lunchtimes)

The parish of St James Clerkenwell has had a long and sometimes lively history. The area where the current church now stands has been a place of worship for almost 900 years. The most recent volume in English Heritage's Survey of London, published in 2007, describes the architecture and buildings of Clerkenwell. The nearby Finsbury Library is also the home of the Islington Local History Centre. Of course the best way to see St James is in real life. Visitors are always welcome and the church is open to visitors 10am-2pm Mon-Fri. But the best time to see it is, naturally, on a Sunday morning when it is full of people!

If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
