Road to Beresford Park Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to my note I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to contact me about this cache please use my Email address below my signature and quote the GC number of the cache. Please note this system is not infallible and I may miss any such mail.

Many thanks,

Geocache Description:

This cache is a magnetic micro.
It contains a pencil and a log in a small plastic zip-lock bag.
You will need to use a lot of stealth as this avenue is in constant use (thus the high difficulty).

Beresford Avenue is located in the Newland area of Hull, on the road out to Beverly.

With some of the most interesting houses in Hull (outside the Old Town), Beresford Avenue (along with other nearby areas) is well planted with flowers, and lined with trees including some fabulous Weeping Willows. The street is well established and well looked after, and if you look hard enough you will be able to make out very large apple trees in some of the gardens. In spring the whole street bursts into bloom, a very pretty sight.

Beresford Avenue leads to Beresford Park (at the end of the road). This large open space is used as a retreat for locals and is full of sports areas, along with a very good playpark and a nice stroll/run along the water (the River Hull) in the east. It of course has also got geocaches, quite a few in fact.

It is also a short stroll away from Pearson Park - a fantastic area, and a great retreat out of the City.

There are often parking spaces nearby, especially down side streets. There are also busses every 5 or so minutes from the city center that run up Beverly Road.

Populated by both students and locals, this street is alive 24/7 so you may have to choose your moment carefully.

I'm currently looking for people who might be able to help look after my caches whilst I'm away undertaking a doctorate. If you think you might be able to help, please do let me know by contacting me at geocachingjohn@googlemail.com (If you can't help maintain them long term, it would be wonderful if you could take along some spare logs/pencils/etc. to keep these caches alive, just in case)
