Um 1235, wiederum von den Grafen von Eppan erbaut, wird Schloss
Boimont als Lehe an die Familie von Boymont (ein
Ministerialgeschlecht) und von Korb übergeben. Fast zwei
Jahrhunderte später ergeht der Besitz durch eine Erbschaft an
Ulrich Kässler, dem Sekretär von Herzog Friedrich mit der leeren
Tasche. Ungefähr 12 Jahre später ging die Burg aufgrund eines
Erbstreites in Flammen auf und wurde dabei zu einem grossen Teil
zerstört. Eine Wiedererrichtung war nachher nicht mehr geplant.
Erst der jetzige Besitzer, Fritz Dellago, restaurierte das Gebäude
im Jahre 1977 soweit es möglich war.

Le rovine di Castel Boymont si trovano sopra Missiano, abbracciati
da un bosco su una piccola altura. Vari reperti testimoniano il
fatto che questa collina era già insediata all’età
preistorica. I Conti d’Appiano fecero costruire nel 1235 il
castello, il quale poi fu concesso come feudo ai signori di
Boymont, ministeriali di tali conti. Attorno il 1400 viveva un
certo Ulrich Kässler nel castello, un segretario del duca Federico
IV, più noto come „Federico dalle tasche vuote“.
Quest’uomo sposò nel 1413 la ricca ereditiera Barbara von
Boymont. Nel 1425 un incendio distrusse grandi parti di Castel
Boymont e si presume che sia stato appiccato a causa di contrasti
ereditari. Da questo momento in poi, il castello fu abbandonato e
cadde in rovina, fino a che nel 1977 Fritz Dellago, l’attuale
proprietario del castello, lo restaurò.

Castel Boymont is located on a forested rock spur above the small
but mighty village of Missiano. Findings prove that the castle hill
was already settled in prehistoric times. The castle was built by
the counts of Appiano around 1235, which was passed on as feud to
the Boymont family. Around 1400 a certain Ulrich Kässer resided at
this castle, who was secretary of Herzog Friedrich with the empty
pocket. In 1413 he married Barbara von Boymont, while in 1425 the
castle burnt down as an act of incendiarism, probably due to a
quarrel on inheritance: from this point of time it fell into decay,
up until Fritz Delago, the present owner of the castle, had the
castle renovated in 1977.
