Geocache Description:

The cache is a small container hidden in a small patch of the Kirkton Woods next to the river Almond. Please park, or approach from the designated area in Fleming Road. Do not try and bushwhack through from the industrial estate.

There are not many envelope symbols on the caching map for this area, so this cache is to add some variety, as well as bringing you to a nice wee wood.  Letterboxing started in Victorian times.  Usually some poetry or other clues guided you to the cache, but for this one use your GPS.  The cache contains a rubber stamp and an ink pad.  The finder stamps his or her own notebook and stamps the cache logbook with their personal stamp, if they have one.

The Woodland Trust look after a number of small wooded areas around Livingston. This cache is hidden in a rarely visited oasis of green in the Kirkton Campus.

Why not take a flask and sit on the sturdy bench (or maybe it's a picnic table). This is a good place to see small birds and other wildlife, (but maybe not the animal on the stamp).

Parking is on Fleming Road where a nice wide, smooth path takes you to the banks of the Almond and on towards the cache. Across the river, you can see the animals of the Almond Valley Heritage Centre.  Take care when its wet as the path can be a bit slippery with moss and slime.

PLEASE LEAVE THE STAMP AND INK PAD IN THE CACHE

With thanks to the Woodland Trust for permission to hide the cache.
