Geocache Description:

Photobucket

Paint Your Wagon is a movie-musical released in 1969 and starring my favorite actor of all-time, Clint Eastwood. Eastwood is known for many roles including the Nameless Stranger of spaghetti westerns

just to name a few.

This particular movie is set during the gold rush of the 1840's and displays the antics of two prospectors being married to the same woman - mayhem ensues.

If you enjoy watching actors in atypical roles, check out Lee Marvin hamming it up and Clint Eastwood singing (yes singing!!) while filling up an $18,000,000 budget musical with all the tricks Hollywood can muster - you decide if they pulled it off or not.

I love movies, and I've found that Clint Eastwood always delivers as an actor and a director. This cache pays homage to the many hours of movie enjoyment he has given me.

The first stage is located at the listed coordinates and is paint-related. There you will find the coordinates for the final stage which brings to mind a wonderful Eastwood directed film from 1988 about a troubled jazz musician. Bring a pen to sign the log.

I am also intrigued by movie sequels, and this cache is somewhat of a sequel to a memorable madkiwiman hide which was located near this area. Like many sequels, this cache incorporates some of the thematic elements of the original while standing on its own as a fresh entity - sheesh, I've been reading too many movie reviews!! Anyway, this area was just begging for a new cache!

There are some nights when you just can't sleep and the only friend you have is the TV with its endless supply of old movies. In those moments, stumbling across The Outlaw Josey Wales at 3:00am is like finding the Holy Grail. While Paint Your Wagon isn't on the same level as the Sound of Music, with Clint Eastwood as part of the fun, you just can't look away.
