Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the above coordinates.

The name ‘Northampton’ is believed to date back to 917 AD and is derived from ‘Hamtune’ which translates roughly as ‘home town’. The earliest such reference is when the Saxon King, Edward, recaptured Northampton from the Danes. This event was reported in The Chronicle (that's the Anglo-Saxon one, rather than the current Chronicle & Echo!) as "the army rode out of Hamtune".

The following towns and villages can all be found within the County of Northamptonshire:

Brixworth. Raunds, Sywell, Wilby,
Moulton. Weston Favell, Blisworth, Kingsthorpe.

...but the cache is not hidden at any of those locations.

Beware of deep water near the cache site.
