The cache overlooks a meadow where you can almost always see deer in the early morning and late afternoon. There are cotton-tail mule deer in the LPCP but I have seen some deer with fairly big antlers (more to the east). Deer are sortoff used to people, but don't expect to be able to get close to them. If you startle them, they might try to explain you a few things with their front hoofs.
For years I ride my bicycle in this canyon Many times I said to myself "here is the perfect place for a cache". I just never had time to do it, and a few fellow geocahers placed caches exactly where I thought to put them. At least I learned that my choices of places for caches make sense :)
Today I decided to place a few caches along not so crowded West end of the North LPC trail, at the places I like, find interesting for some reason, and sometimes make quick stops/breaks to enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of those spots.
For this one I had some trouble getting accurate coordinates, probably because of the power lines overhead. I approached the GZ from three different directions, averaged for about 5 minutes each (Oregon 400) and got 3 slightly, but different enough coordinates. Then I took the average of those and declared it GZ. So expect your GPSr to bounce a little, and you to spend some time finding GZ.
You are looking for a micro plastic container, similar to 35mm, but narrower and longer. Cover is the same color as the hiding place. BYOP
