Geocache Description:


Join us on Saturday, October 23rd, for some adventure in Utah's San Rafael Swell. I'll be camped there for the entire weekend (probably Wednesday through Sunday), so feel free to camp anytime or just show up for the day on Saturday. We'll be near several area attractions--Goblin Valley, Little Wild Horse Canyon, Temple Mountain, and many others.

The campsite is a little on the small side (especially for more than a few camp trailers), but the turnout for the fall San Rafael events is also usually light, so I think we'll be ok. There's another site about 250' away that will accommodate any overflow if we end up with too many people in the main site. It's a primitive campsite, so you'll need to bring everything you need with you (water, etc.) and pack everything out. If you prefer more luxurious accommodations, there's a campground at Goblin Valley State Park (about seven miles south) with restrooms, drinking water, showers, and firepits.

We'll plan some sort of activity (a hike, scenic drive, etc.) on Saturday, depending on who attends and the level of interest for such an adventure, and we'll have a potluck at around 5:30 or 6:00 PM Saturday evening. Hope to see you there!
