This event is a fun for all ages scavenger hunt challenge with a
winning prize give-away. Prizes are GeoCaching Hats, Shirts,
Trackables and MORE.................... Limited point in each cache
so don't start to late.
Starting Location will put you right in the door of Chameleon Art
Gallery. (9:30-12:30) Start as close to 9:30am as you want but be
back no later than 12:30 to have your points added up. As you make
your way around town you can also enjoy the Sweet Potato Festival.
Rating is set to reach a Diff. /Terr. that is not normally avail.
Around here. The Sweet Potato Festival is set to run from 9:00am to
4: pm so there will be time to check it out after you Cache. For
this event, cachers will make their way around Darlington looking
for published and unpublished caches and enjoy Darlington’s
annual Sweet Potato Festival. At the beginning of the event,
cachers will receive instructions, a list of caches, and a baggie
to collect their points. The hunt will then begin and take cachers
to various points of interest in Darlington. As caches are logged,
be sure to collect the point markers at each location (caches will
have varying point values). Once cachers have completed their hunt
(or have decided to call it a day), they will turn in their
day’s spoils by the designated time and points will be
tallied. At the end of the event, a winner will be announced. Extra
points may also be earned by purchasing raffle tickets for
give-away-prizes. Each ticket purchased will be worth a point in
case of a tie. (Special note: Prizes will be awarded based on
points. Cachers need not be present at the end of the event in
order to win.) Warning - downtown area will be closed to vehicle
traffic; parking is available on the outer perimeter of the town
square. Note: This is our first try at an event so let us know what
you think.
