The area is along the route of the two-day Sahara tour. The Star Wars village is visited during the second day of the tour as part of the jeep safari. There is a stop here, which is about half an hour long. The price of the two days Sahara tour was 210 TND (appr. 110 EUR) in 2010 year......

We were really surprised during our vacation in Tunisia. On a jeep tour to the Sahara we got to one of the scenes of Star Wars, the legendary movie of our adolescence. Director George Lucas developed several locations, including the spaceport town Mos Eisley, of the planet Tatooine in the Tunisian desert. Tatooine is the home planet of Luke Skywalker. The spaceport town Mos Eisley is not far from the moisture farm of Luke's uncle. The name of the planet was inspired by the nearby Tunisian town Tataouine, while the name of one of the characters, Chewbacca, was inspired by the also close mountain oasis Chebika.
This distant planet of a far-off galaxy is quite rundown today, but wire mesh strained on a slat frame and overlaid with mud does not last forever, not even in the stable climate of the Sahara. The scenery is still available since 1977.
The cache (10*10*4cm) can be found behind one of the mound houses facing towards the desert.

Tunéziai nyaralásunk során igazi meglepetés ért, egy szaharai jeep túrán eljutottunk ifjúkorunk legendás filmjének, a Star Wars-nak az egyik helyszínére. A rendezo, George Lucas, a tunéziai sivatagban alakította ki a Tatooine bolygó több részletét, többek között Mos Eisley városát. A Tatooine, Luke Skywalker szülöbolygója, Mos Eisley pedig az ürkikötö-város nem messze Luke nagybátyjának párakertjétöl. A bolygó nevét a közeli település, Tataouine ihlette, míg az egyik szereplö Chewbacca neve szintén a közeli Chebika város nevéböl származik. A messzi-messzi galaxis egy távoli bolygója sajnos elég lepusztult állapotban van, de hát ha a léckeretre feszített dróthálót beborítják egy kis sárral, az még a meglehetösen stabil klímájú Szaharában sem tarthat örökké. A díszletek még ma is állnak 1977 óta.
