Geocache Description:

Cascade 500 pieds(feet) may be the highest waterfall in Mauritius. The trail to the cache do start at the Alexandra falls viewpoint but the cache is found on top of Cascade 500 pieds. From the Alexandra falls viewpoint, Cascade 500 pieds cannot be seen.

The hike to the cache is not very long. It can be done in about 30 minutes and the way back will take about 45 minutes. This hike is quite strenuous especially on the way back. So it is recommended for the fit ones. The route to the cache will bring you on the top of the waterfall and you will find a wonderful panorama of southern coast.
Follow the little trail to the left of the wooden bridge when you are at the waypoint "START".
Beware, at the "START" waypoint you may find a dirt road which you think may be the trail, but it's not. The trail is parallel to the large dirt road but a little bit in the lower ground. You will notice and need to cross a little stream at the beginning.
