Geocache Description:

Read on below for the details of this geocaching challenge.

I stumbled across the geocaching 'challenge' type of cache recently. This cache is inspired by that concept. The concept is quite simple: the challenge is set and described here, you fulfill the challenge requirements and get the right to try and find this cache.

You may find the challenge incredibly easy - in fact you may have already qualified without knowing it - or rather difficult.

The challenge conditions are as follows:
1. Find 20 geocaches in 1 calendar month i.e. the caches must be found between the first and last date of a given month.
2. The caches must have been placed by 10 different cachers i.e. 2 caches per cacher.
3. The caches can be found anywhere in the South Island of New Zealand. Caches outside of the South Island of New Zealand will not be accepted.
4. Caches claimed as found must be active at the time of claiming.
5. There must be at least 1 earthcache in the list of 20 caches
6. There must be at least 1 multi caches in the list of 20 caches
7. There must be at least 1 puzzle / unknown caches in the list of 20 caches.
8. There must be at least 1 cache with difficulty of 2.5 or greater
9. There must be at least 1 cache with terrain of 2.5 or greater
10. You may not find your own caches in this list.
11. The remaining caches can be of any valid / active kind

To claim the right to find this cache you need to provide details of your cache find list i.e. Cache 'GC' code and date found. You can do this in several ways:
1. By posting a note on this cache listing with the details required.
2. Post your 20 found caches in a clearly labeled Public Bookmark. Annotate the bookmark with who the cache was hidden by and when you found it.
3. Optionally send me your list via email in text, gpc or loc format.

If your list passes the criteria above go for it and find the cache. The difficulty and terrain retain reflect the challenge. The cache itself is more of a 2 / 2 cache.

Oh, I mentioned that you might have already qualified for the challenge... How does that work? Well, I'll accept finds made in any month as far back as May 2010.

The cache? It is a camo painted berocca type tube located at the coordinates listed above with log only, so please bring a pen or pencil.

NB - Any finds logged by persons that have not met the challenge will be deleted.

Clarifications from the notes below:
1. To meet the challenge you must find (or have found) 2*10 caches within 1 calendar month - that is 2 caches each placed by 10 different cachers.
2. This does NOT preclude you from exceeding this target in any way. I'm not here to stop you caching to your hearts content, merely setting up a minimum target 'condition' to qualify for this cache. Exceeding the mark is fine for your own personal caching but has nothing to do with this challenge.
3. As noted in the listing - you may find this challenge easy AND you may have already qualified. That is if you have met the criteria stated in any of the calendar months from May 2010 (inclusive) to date, then you may assert your qualified status and go and find / log the cache. So experienced cachers may not need to fret over having to travel long distances as they may have already qualified, newer cachers may need to plan how they go and find caches in the future but can probably find the necessary mix without too much travel.
4. Deleted
5. Where more than one cacher is credited with a cache placement, in the context of this challenge, only the 'owner / publisher' of the cache will be considered.
6. Oh and just to repeat one of the conditions above that seems to have caught out one or two people attempting this - the 20 caches in your challenge list must be from 10 different cachers - there must be 2 caches found for each of these 10 cachers i.e. 10 x 2 = 20.
7. Note 4 above deleted. You don't have to wait for me to confirm your qualification for this challenge. Post your qualification list as a note or with your find. That will be OK from now on.

Enjoy...
