Geocache Description:

This is a mystery cache located in one of the Harvard conservation lands. We have noticed that the trailhead signs of Harvard use an Acorn as the symbol of their conservation lands. The online trail maps are not very complete but you can get a nice Harvard Trail booklet with maps of all the conservation lands from the town hall for a sawbuck. This handy guide includes trail maps, flora and fauna descriptions and a nice summary of Massachusetts wildlife tracks.

The listed coordinates are for Harvard town center and NOT for the final cache. You must solve the puzzle below to determine the final coordinates. This cache may be difficult in winter if there is more than 2 feet of snow on the ground or if there is significant ice.

You need to make a keen observation outside your normal frame of reference. The final coordinates are within 2 miles of the listed coordinates.

Consider the following list of sentences. Each sentence contains a hidden element. Together, the elements from each sentence will form an obvious pattern or connection to a common theme. To solve this puzzle, you need to:
  • Discover the hidden elements in the sentences below and deduce the theme that binds those elements together.
  • Once you know the theme, the sentences can be put into a more logical order based on the hidden elements. Align the sentence tags A-I with the proper order of the sentences and you can decode the coordinates below. Let J = 0.

A. People understand that E-mail is getting harder to handle.
B. No one thinks Florida is red state territory.
C. Boston educators firmly opposed reading essays that had included religious dogma.
