Geocache Description:

3rd in a series of drive by caches placed along the A640, a moorland road which crosses the high Pennines. The route take visitors via the Nont Sarah's Hotel, across Buckstone's Moor, past the isolated Buckstone's Lodge and then eventually into the small village of Denshaw

Buckstones Car Park (SE018 137) is an ideal place to stop and savour the dramatic landscape of Marsden Moor. It presents magnificent views across the Upper Colne Valley, to the beginnings of the River Colne and out to Pule Hill and Millstone Edges; a rock formation that spans a large distance. The Holme Moss TV mast and the fine mountain of Black Hill looms large in the distance.

Thank you to the National Trust for granting permission for the cache.
