Shiver me timbers, t' pirates have taken over MOGA'11 and
Rend Lake, Illinois and on March 25th, 26th, and 27th, we be goin'
t' spoil you with t' facilities for this years event. T' US Arme
Corps o' Engineers, St. Louis Area Geocachers Association, Wayne
Fitzgerrell State Park, Rend Lake Resort, and t' MOGA Staff want t'
welcome you t' another action packed weekend. Rend Lake currently
has 5 geocaches in t' area. When MOGA'11 gets started thar
will be over 130 new caches around t' lake.
T' MOGA Staff wants everyone t' realize that even though our
main purpose be a competition, participation in t' competitions be
not required. We have somethin' for everyone and t' basic
registration be free. We also want t' encourage everyone that
attends t' post an attended log on t' cache page.
FACILITIES:
We parlayed with t' Rend Lake Resort and they gave us a fantastic
accord on t' 104 rooms they have made available t' us. Check t'
MOGA website for all o' t'
details.
REGISTRATION:
This year we will have 7 registration levels. VIP Captain's Parlor,
Platinum Frigate, Gold Brigantine, Silver Barque, Bronze Schooner,
Scout Sloop, and Wooden Dinghy.
VIP Captain's Parlor Registration: Will receive everythin' in
Platinum but includes a special doubloon set o' 2 event and staff
doubloons. VIPs wait in no lines for meals, checkin, waypoints,
etc. You also get top level parkin'. Prices will be listed on t'
MOGA website.
Platinum Frigate Registration: Will receive everythin'. Event
doubloon , t-shirt, all swag, maps, name tag, all meals, and
drawstrin' bag. Prices will be listed on t' MOGA website.
Gold Brigantine Registration: Will receive Event doubloon , all
swag, maps, name tag, all meals, and drawstrin' bag. Prices will be
listed on t' MOGA website.
Silver Barque Registration: Will receive Event doubloon , t-shirt,
all swag, maps, name tag, and drawstrin' bag. Prices will be listed
on t' MOGA website.
Bronze Schooner Registration: Will receive Event doubloon , all
swag, maps, name tag, and drawstrin' bag. Prices will be listed on
t' MOGA website.
(Scout) Sloop Registration: (Scouts and Leaders Only) Will receive
pin, maps, name tag, and drawstrin' bag. Prices will be listed on
t' MOGA website.
Wooden Dinghy Registration: Will receive a name tag. This
registration be FREE!
In addition, competitors will be charged $5.00 per person. This
fees goes toward t' cost o' t' award geodoubloons. Each winnin'
competitor receives an award geodoubloon.
Individual Competition - One Person - $5.00
Last chance to register is Friday 25th at sundown.
Couples Competition Two Person - $10.00 (Covers both people)
Team Competition Four Person - $20.00 (Covers all 4 people)
Last chance to register is Saturday 26th at 10:00am.
GEODOUBLOONS and AWARDS:
MOGA'11 will again have TWO geodoubloons this year. One doubloon
will be available t' all attendees who want one. We be designin' a
special unique doubloon for this years event so watch this page for
future updates. T' second doubloon will be a special award doubloon
just for t' competitors. GOLD - for first place, SILVER - for
second place, and BRONZE - for third place. There be a special
doubloon minted for MOGA staffers and VIP's only.
Is your peg leg slowin' you down? Are you goin' t' be in t' crows
nest all mornin'? Do you want t' cache all day and STILL HAVE A
CHANCE TO GET A COMPETITORS GEODOUBLOON? Now be your chance.
Everyone who has a VALID REGISTRATION will have a chance t' enter
t' MOGA'11 POKER RUN. Startin' Saturday mornin', thar will
be special permanent caches hidden with unique playin' pieces
inside. Find all 6 o' t' playin' pieces and you will be able t'
draw 5 playin' cards and 1 Bonus Card. T' registered cacher who has
t' best hand by Sunday at noon will win t' Gold Geodoubloon. Second
best hand will get t' Silver Geodoubloon. T' third best hand will
get t' Bronze Geodoubloon. We know some people may have t' leave
early, but don't you worry none, you don't have t' be present t'
win.
COMPETITIONS:
Mark me words, t' registration for t' singles competition be
ending on Friday t' 25th at sundown.
T' competitions will be t' same as last year except we be changin'
t' time limit from 3 hours t' 2.5 hours. T' age groups for t' men's
and beauties's individual competions will be t' same.

T' age groups for t' team competitions will be t' same as t'
individual competitions.

For t' two person teams we will take an average o' t' two ages t'
determine which age group you be in.
For t' four person teams we will first use a three person majority
(3 people be 30 t' 49, that's t' group you will compete with). If
thar be no majority then we will use an average
(22+33+45+60/4=40).
We will be usin' water proof punch cards this year t' enaye we have
no problems with t' weather.
Remember! Every winnin' competitor receives either a Gold, Silver,
or Bronze Trackable Geodoubloon.
CACHES:
We be plannin' on hidin' 100 regular size cache containers around
t' 8 mile bike trail on t' land o' t' USACE . So if you have a bike
handy, you may consider brin'in' it. We be also plannin' t' hide
about 30 parkin' lot caches o' various difficulties around t' lake.
Don't forget t' kiddie caches! We will have a special area for t'
lads and lasses t' find caches that will be available all day
Saturday.
T' authorities at Rend Lake want us t' make aye that everyone
attendin' MOGA'11 has t' proper waivers and papers when they attend
t' event. Therefore, they have requested we not be releasin' t'
locations o' t' 100 event caches until Sunday Mornin' after t'
event. If your papers be in order, you can get t' locations on
Friday at t' evenin' event, or Saturday mornin' at t' main event.
For you swabs whose ship arrives early, t' 30 parkin' lot caches
will be released on t' Monday before t' event.
FOOD:
We will have 3 meals catered by t' resort for Saturday only. T'
prices for these meals will be similar t' last year. There be a
nice restaurant at t' resort and we will also post t' coordinates
o' all o' t' restaurants in t' area when they become available.
TRACKABLES:
With all o' t' activities durin' MOGA'11, We WILL NOT
have t' time or t' staff t' have a properly run trackable table.
Please do not drop your trackables into t' event. There will be
plenty o' caches in t' area t' place your trackables in.
PRIZES AND GIVEAWAYS:
We be contactin' all o' t' major GPSr manufacturers and various
other companies includin' Groundspeak t' donate prizes t' give away
at our Saturday Awards ceremony. Everyone will receive an
attendance ticket in their registration packet. Just put your
cachin' name on t' ticket and put it in t' container associated
with t' prize you would like t' win. We be expectin' lots o' stuff
t' arrive so keep checkin' t' MOGA

increase your chances o' winnin'.
