rain or shine.
Snacks will be provided at the original stash site, please bring
your own water. Could also bring a light lunch and a tarp to sit on
if you like! Only restroom is found at the Pine Lane trailhead.

sharp.

Parking coords are N41 14.349 W81 32.265 for the Pine Lane
Trailhead. They are also attached to this cache page listing. The
only approach is from Route 303, just east of the city of
Peninsula. Look for the brown signs, “Pine Lane”. Car
pool if you can, there are approximately 15 spots in the lot and
maybe 20 more along this closed road.
How to Successfully Attend the Event
Find your way to the posted event coords! There you will find me
with a nearly exact Replica of the First GPS Stash box in Ohio.
Inside that stash box, under some replica swag, you will find the
event log book. This log book will be used to verify your
attendance at the event. If you don't sign the log book, you won't
be logging the event. There has been false event attendance issues
in NEOGeo recently that force me to do this.
Very Important!
The ONLY chance you will be able to sign the official event log
book is at the posted cords between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. This
event will last for just Ninety minutes at the posted coords.
Please allot yourself the right amount of time to be there while
the log book is out and available.
A Special Guest will be There
I am a Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) volunteer, work with
them mostly on their EarthCaching program. For this hike I’m
happy to welcome a CVNP guest, Arrye Rosser. Arrye is an
Interpretive & Education Specialist with the CVNP. She wears
many ‘hats’ over there, one of which is Manager of the
EarthCaching Program. She also manages the newly introduced
Canalway Questing Program, a letterbox type activity done without
the need of a GPS. Arrye wishes to join us Geocachers out on the
trail, she is interested in getting to know us better. While we
rally up to our 2 p.m. trail departure time, she’ll be
speaking on some topics that are of interest to geocachers. She
will be available for questions during the hike as well. Please
give her a warm welcome.

Lastly…
Some of you made this hike back in 2008 when we put on the
GeoEvent ”Ohio's First GPS Stash Memorial Picnic” And
most of You were rewarded with a heavy downpour of rain once you
got to ground zero. lol, remember that? The rolling black clouds,
the huge raindrops, the swollen creek crossing. Remember how good
it was to come back to the Octagon shelter afterwards and dry off
by the raging fire we had for you? Good times. Not promising clear skies this time
around but I do promise to be out there with you guys to share any
misery with you.
This is the hiking viking's 121nd cache
in the greater Akron area.
