Der Stein - das Material zum Buch
Bei diesem Steinbuch wurde ein russischer Labrador mit blauem Auge verwand.
Woher stammt dieser Stein und was ist das besondere an ihm?
Labradorit wurde nach seinem ersten Fundort, der Halbinsel Labrador, benannt. An dessen Küste entdeckte ihn der tschechische Missionar Pater Adolf.
Auffällig ist beim Labradorit das irisierende Farbenspiel in metallischem Glanz, die so genannte Labradoreszenz (Verb: labradorisieren), welches durch Interferenz und Spiegelung des Lichtes an den submikroskopischen Entmischungslamellen verursacht wird. Dieser Schimmer ist vorwiegend blau, violett und grün, aber gelegentlich auch in anderen Farben zu finden. [1] In seltenen Fällen umfasst er das ganze Farbspektrum, der Schmuckstein wird dann Spektrolith genannt.
Labradorit bildet sich entweder magmatisch in Gabbros, Basalt und Anorthosit oder metamorph in Amphibolit.
Wichtige Fundstätten sind Québec und Nain in Labrador/Kanada, das Korostanskiymassiv in der Ukraine, Ylämaa in Finnland, die Umgebung von Larvik in Norwegen sowie Madagaskar.
Labradorit wird aufgrund seines schönen Schimmers gerne zu Schmucksteinen verarbeitet. Seine hohe Empfindlichkeit gegenüber jedem Wärmeeinfluss, Säuren und Laugen sowie galvanischen Bädern macht eine Verarbeitung jedoch schwierig. Selbst eine Reinigung im Ultraschallbad schädigt den Stein.

Freilichtatelier - Steinskulpturenpark
Unweit der gewaltigen Kulisse des Rotenfelsens im Stadtteil Ebernburg haben die Bildhauer Kubach-Wilmsen vor rund 40 Jahren ihr Freilichtatelier errichtet und verlassene Weinberge in einen Steinskulpturenpark verwandelt. Die in Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg lebende Bildhauerin Anna Kubach-Wilmsen hat mit ihrem 2007 verstorbenen Mann, Wolfgang Kubach, Steine aus allen Kontinenten verarbeitet. Ihre Exponate stehen in Galerien, Museen und Kunsthallen in der ganzen Welt.
Der Steinskulpturenpark ist frei zugänglich und ist im äußersten Westen von Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg zu finden. Ab der Abfahrt von der B 48 in den Stadtteil Ebernburg ist er ausgeschildert.
Auf dem Gelände des Parks wurde nach den Plänen des weltberühmten japanischen Architekten Tadao Ando das erste und einzige zeitgenössische Steinskulpturen-Museum der Welt errichtet.
Durch das Museum und den bereits vorhandenen Steinskulpturenpark soll der Stein seinen Platz in der Landschaft und in der Kunstszene behaupten. Die Eröffnung des Museums fand am 14. August 2010 statt.

From where does this stone come and which is the special at it?
Labradorit was designated to its first discovery site, the peninsula Labrador. At its coast it the Czech Missionar Pater Adolf discovered.
The irisierende color play is remarkable in metallic gloss, the Labradoreszenz so called with the Labradorit (verb: labradorisieren), which is caused by interference and reflection of the light at the submicroscopic separation lamellas. This glow is predominantly blue, violet and green to find but occasionally also in other colors. [1] In rare cases it covers the whole chromatic spectrum, the gem stone Spektrolith is then called.

Labradorit is converted due to its beautiful glow gladly to gem stones. Its high sensitivity opposite each heat influence, acids and caustic solutions as well as galvanic baths makes a processing however difficult. Even a cleaning in the ultrasonic bath damages the stone.

Free light studio - stone sculpture park
Nearby the enormous backdrop of the red rock in the quarter Ebernburg the sculptors Kubach Wilmsen established their free light studio before approximately 40 years and transformed abandoned vineyards into a stone sculpture park. The sculptress Anna Kubach Wilmsen living in bath Münster at the stone Ebernburg processed the 2007 deceased with her man, Wolfgang Kubach, stones from all continents. Their exhibits are located in galleries, museums and arts centers in the whole world.
The stone sculpture park is freely accessible and is in the extreme west of bath Münster at the stone Ebernburg to be found. Starting from the departure of B 48 into the quarter Ebernburg it is out-described.
On the area of the park after the plans of the world-famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando the first and only contemporary stone sculpture museum of the world was established.
By the museum and the already existing stone sculpture park the stone is to maintain its place in the landscape and in the art scene. The opening of the museum took place on 14 August 2010.
