Formally - Little one at Stonham - but now part of the Church Micro
Series.
The Church, St Mary the Virgin, Stonham Parva is located in Little
Stonham. The cache is located along a public footpath just outside
the boundary fence as the church also appears to be a Nature
Reserve. It is a short journey which is wheel chair and buggy
friendly.
Car Parking is available at the given co-ordinates, just outside
the gates.
The cache is a simple offset, (2 stage multi), as these are my
favourite types.
Firstly the listed co-ordinates are for the main wooden church
entrance door.
The number of carved stone heads surrounding the door = A.
The cache is hidden at :
N52 11.(11-A)1(3-A)
E001 05.(A)(10-A)(7+A)
The cache is a labled film canister (So should fit small geocoins)
in camo bag and at the time of placing contained:
Log sheets, Pencil, Geocaching Info Doc
First To Find Badge
Shopping Trolley Token Keyring
SOME INFO:
The church lies behind the village and beside the Old Hall (now a
farm). The nave and chancel are 14th century but the particularly
fine tower with beautiful flint and stone panelling to the parapet,
the clerestory and south chapel are all Perpendicular. The nave has
a splendid double hammerbeam roof and there are many other
interesting fittings.
If anyone would like to expand this Church Micro numbered series
please do. Please contact sadexploration via
www.geocaching.com so that he can keep track of the church numbers
and names to avoid duplication.
