Geocache Description:

The sixth cache in my series, open for all, yet intended for those who need to cache "en route" to work, to the store, or to appointments; parking close by on Gladwin Crescent.

NOTE: the film canister can be found while on the ground; there is no need to climb the train.

No special tools are required for your quest; it is unnecessary to either climb under, or "into", the train to find the cache.

Congratulations to elyob, Pokaroo, jomari, and G_Fours on the shared FTF!

The cache is placed on the museum side of a Canadian National 6200 steam locomotive situated on the front lawn of the Canada Science and Technology Museum. According to the Museum's "Technology Park Brochure", the locomotive was made in Montreal in 1942 and was transferred to the Museum in 1967 after service in Eastern Canada. It weighs around 300 000 kg and is almost 30 metres long.

Incidentally, there is a waymark for this locomotive by "The Blue Quasar". http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM808V_Locomotives_Canadian_National_6200_Ottawa_ON

On a personal note, my Great-Grandfather, Barton Wheelright, was the Chief Engineer for CN Rail.

Note: Waypoint averaging was used 3 times, on 3 different days, under a variety of weather conditions to determine the cache coordinates using my Oregon 400t.

Note: There is no need to blindly stick your hand into hides you can not see.

April 22, 2012: the film canister was changed to a small Lock 'N Lock container to hold travellers; no swag please. Coordinates remain the same for the hide.
