Geocache Description:

You guessed it - the ubiquitous magnetised 35mm film canister containing only a log.

Please ensure the magnets are firmly stuck to steel when replacing the cache

Unlike other stations on the lines out of London this one didn't trigger an outbreak of housebuilding and, as a consequence, seems out of place. Trains are every 20 minutes but only 4, hourly buses around midday. It's now in the green belt so maybe it will stay that way. However, there has been some development a mile to the east so who knows?

Crews Hill is renowned for the garden centres and related businesses much to the disgust of the council's planning committee. That means that Cattlegate Road is busy at weekends and bank holidays, especially during the Spring planting season and the run up to Christmas. The road also has a lot of fast traffic during the morning and evening peak periods and very much more crawling traffic when the A10 is blocked. You'll make a lot of fellow motorists cross, and may even cause an accident, if you try to park on the road, so please don't.

If you are doing the other caches around Whitewebbs and Forty Hill by public transport and foot then this is a good place to start as everywhere else is downhill.

Although it is wheelchair accessible the path may be too narrow to turn a Motability scooter round.

Congratulations to mashworth who gets a virtual pat on the back for being FTF at the original location.
