Geocache Description:

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
San Luis Peak
Elevation: 14,022 ft (4,274 m)
Prominence: 3,113 ft (949 m)?
First ascent: 1874 by Franklin Rhoda and A. D. Wilson

San Luis Peak is a fourteen thousand foot peak in the San Juan Mountains of the U.S. state of Colorado. It is located in the La Garita Wilderness (part of the Rio Grande National Forest) in Saguache County approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of Creede. It is situated rather far to the east of the other fourteeners in the San Juans, and has more of a wilderness setting than many of the other.
San Luis Peak is a relatively straightforward climb, with two hiking routes to the summit, the South Ridge and the East Flank.

**As with all our 14'er caches, feel free to share a picture of you on the actual summit of this peak.**
