This was our X-mas eve activity. There was about 8" of snow! I would only take 4wd vehicles until the snow melts.
If you follow the signs, you will be on a dirt road for a couple of short miles, followed by a short hike from the parking area. The cache location is less than 1/2 miles from the parking area.
The cache is a clear tupperware container full of toys and other trinkets to keep their owners busy. Hope you enjoy them.
For extra fun, take the 1/2 mile hike up the hill. This is the best view, closest snow and pine trees to the metro area! A nice ranger took us ALL the way to the top once... very spooky!
For extra-extra fun, use the backroad that begins at N33° 57.566 W111° 23.969. It is a little longer to the parking area (5 miles?), but is one of my favorite 4WD trails.
Hopefully our footprints in the snow don't make it too easy. Have fun!
