More than 300 people were killed during the Bath Blitz in April 1942 and more than 19,000 buildings were damaged.
In May 2008, Willi Schludecker, attracted international attention when he visited Bath sixty-six years after dropping bombs on Bath during the infamous Baedeker raids.
He sought the city's forgiveness during a special memorial service in front of a 200-strong congregation at the Memorial Gardens in Oldfield Park.
