There are specific requirements that must be completed before you may log this cache. Make sure you read the page carefully as it contains important information pertaining to the finding and logging of this cache. The requirements may differ from those required for other Fizzy Challenge Caches.
GC11E8N – Well Rounded Cacher (The Fizzy Challenge), the original Fizzy Challenge cache, was placed in California by Kealia to honor the cacher FizzyMagic, who has given much to the “local caching community” better known as the San Francisco Bay area. Challenge caches are one of our favorite types of caches – we’ve done quite a few of them hidden in Colorado Springs, CO and always found them to be worthwhile ventures. I’d be remiss if I didn’t offer my thanks to Kealia for the original concept for this cache; and to The Sterns (chefstern and dndsterns) from Colorado for the inspiration to place our own Challenge Caches here in San Antonio, TX.
To be able to log a find for this cache, you will need to first find at least one cache of every Difficulty/Terrain (D/T) combination - 81 different combinations. Included in those finds must be at least one of each of the following ten cache types:
Traditional Cache
Multi-cache
Virtual Cache
Letterbox Hybrid
Event Cache
CITO Event Cache
Unknown Cache
Webcam Cache
EarthCache
Wherigo Cache
The different cache types count toward the 81, so if you find a 2.5/2.5 multi-cache, it fulfills both the cache type and D/T requirement. Mega-events, Lost and Found events, Groundspeak Lost and Found Celebration, Groundspeak HQ, Project APE caches, GPS Adventure Exhibits, and Locationless caches are specifically excluded and cannot be used to fulfill a needed D/T combination. Note: I have no idea how many different D/T combinations are currently available in Texas. You will likely have to travel a bit in order to meet the requirements. You may use caches from any geographic location to meet the requirements.
Basic Rules:
• Caches used to satisfy the requirements for this cache may come from any US state or country.
• Your own hides can not apply towards the goal, even if you hid a cache under a separate caching name that you own or are a “member” of.
• No rating changes of existing caches will be accepted as counting towards the goal.
• Generally accepted Geocaching.com rules, guidelines and conditions for logging a cache find will apply.
• The caches must be listed on Geocaching.com, and you must have personally (physically) found and logged each cache.
• Archived and disabled caches still count toward the challenge as long as you found them while they were active caches.
• You may have others with you when you log the final, but only those who have fulfilled ALL criteria for this cache will be allowed to log it as a find.
• Finds without appropriate qualification documentation (see below) will be deleted.
• This cache will not count as a 5/5 D/T. You must find another 5/5 cache before this one.
• When in doubt ask -- we can discuss it or even seek guidance from others, but the final decision rests with the cache owner.
Keeping track:
• Although not required, some geocaching statistics generating applications can be helpful for keeping track of which D/T combinations you have found, and which ones you still need. Most of these types of applications will produce a table of all the possible D/T combos, and will color-code the ones that you have found. You can usually post the HTML output into your geocaching profile page for everyone to see. Below are just two of the many current applications that are available Online.
• The FindStatsGen macro for Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK) is capable of producing a very extensive set of statistics including a table of D/T combinations that you have found. You must first download GSAK to your computer, and then install the most recent version of the FindStatsGen macro in order to be able to generate your statistics. Although the process of getting it all set up to actually run your stats can be lengthy, there is very good documentation available from GSAK to help you get started.
• CacheStats (by LogicWeave) is an easy-to-use application that uses your “my finds” pocket query to generate an impressive number of statistics, including a D/T combo table that will help you keep track of your progress.
• Without an application to help you keep track of your progress, you will have to begin to compile a list of caches that you have found that qualify you for each D/T combination. Then work toward finding caches with D/T ratings that you have not yet found in order to fill in the “holes” in your list.
• You are also welcome to post notes and/or pictures of your progress on this cache page as you work towards qualifying for this Challenge Cache.
To get (and keep!) credit for this find:
• When you have found all of the required combinations, you can go and find and sign the log for this Challenge Cache.
• When logging your find on geocaching.com, you must include qualification documentation in your log. The specific requirements for this documentation are listed below.
• If your profile page does not include a D/T table, then you must include in your online log a list of all 81 required caches that you have found to qualify you for this Challenge Cache (including the GC numbers and D/T rating for each cache). For 10 of the caches on your list, include what type (Traditional, Virtual, EarthCache, Wherigo, etc.) of cache it is. Make sure each of the ten required cache types are included on your list.
• If your profile page displays a D/T table (like from one of the applications listed above) then you only need to list the ten required cache types and their D/T ratings that you are using for this Challenge Cache in your online log.
The actual D/T of this hide is about a 1/1.5, but the listed D/T rating reflects the D/T required to qualify for the challenge.
