Geocache Description:

The Oklahoma Land Run Monument is a series of giant bronze sculptures which depicts the Land Run of April 22nd, 1889 that opened "Oklahoma, Indian Territory" up to homesteading by settlers. The monument, which sits on the banks of the Bricktown Canal in Oklahoma City, depicts dozens of horses, wagons, soldiers, and cowboys in a race to settle the newly opened lands.

At 300 feet long when it is completed, the collective sculptures by Norman artist Paul Moore will be one of the world's largest bronze displays. Eventually, the monument along the Bricktown canal will depict 45 bronze statues of horses, wagons, livestock, soldiers and pioneers seeking to stake out their claim to Oklahoma territory in the great Land Run of 1889.

Flash mob (FLASH mawb) n. A large group of people who gather in a usually predetermined location, perform some brief action, and then quickly disperse.
At precisely 2:15pm on Saturday, September 11, 2010, Geocachers will converge on the above coordinates from dark corners, behind lamp posts, hidden byways and other inconspicuous places to pose for a OKLAHOMA LAND RUN picture!
This event is only 15 minutes long!!! You MUST pose for the picture and sign a log sheet during the time to claim the event.
Pictures will be submitted to the FTF magazine along with a story outline of the OKLAHOMA LAND RUN series running from Okeene, Oklahoma to Cushing, Oklahoma. Bring your best smile!
