Geocache Description:

Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

-Date: September 26th 2010
-When: 12pm-2pm
-Where: Neck Point Park, Parking Lot (Posted Coords)
-Things to Bring: Water, Good Shoes,
Gloves (gardening work best, latex gloves provided if need be), GPS (to mark locations)... And a Willingness to fight Climate Change!
Optional: 2 way radio's(walkie-talkies, if availible), Garbage Tongs

Any participants under the age of 19, must have Liability Waiver signed by Parent/Guardian. Liability Waiver MUST be signed by every participant, we will have it availible at the event.

History:
It all stated in 1994, when a small group of people volunteered to conduct a shoreline cleanup of Vancouver's Stanley Park. Eight years later in 2002, that's small groups original efforts grew in support to become a National event known as The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.

In 2009, more then 160,000 kg of garbage and recyclables were removed from almost 2,500 km of shoreline across Canada. Of course, this year, those records must be broken.
