Cache "Cerkev sv.Jerneja" je eden izmed keškov v seriji “Cerkve v obcini Tržic” (oznaceni z CT). Na prvi strani knjižice je zapisana crka in številka. Zapišite si ju, saj ju boste morda še kdaj potrebovali.
Cache "Church of St.Bartholomew" is one of the caches in series of “churches in Tržic” (marked as CT). On the first page of the logbook is a letter and number. Write them down somewhere, as you might need them some day.
Na južnem delu obcine Tržic, ob cesti, ki vodi do zdravilišca Golnik, leži vas Senicno. Cerkev skupaj z obzidjem in staro lipo tvori osrednji prostor starega vaškega jedra.
Cerkev je pozno gotska s tristrano zakljucenim prezbiterijem z zvezdastim obokom iz sredine 15. stoletja. Ladjo so podaljšali v obdobju baroka (druga polovica 18. stoletja). Stranska oltarja sv. Florjana in sv. Marije Snežne je leta 1890 izdelal Janez Vurnik, na oltarni mizi pa stoji kip sv. Jerneja. Veliko dragocenost predstavljajo freske v prezbiteriju (nastale so med letoma 1480–1490), ki sledijo pri nas uveljavljenemu ikonografskemu principu t. i. kranjskega prezbiterija in so delo Mojstra iz Senicnega. Poslikane so vse stene, obok in oltarna stran slavoloka. V mocno barokizirani ladji so le v fragmentih ohranjene freske (med letoma 1490–1500) slikarja iz kroga Mojstra Bolfganga. Zanimiv je tudi križev pot (prva polovica 19. stoletja) slikarja Kroga Layerja.
Cerkev obdaja cerkveni zid s portalom, na katerem je letnica 1738.
Popotnik si lahko odpocije na klopci pod lipo, na nasprotni strani obzidja pa stoji vodnjak s pitno vodo. Ce kdo želi videti cerkvico tudi od znotraj naj me kontaktira, saj imam kljuc.

Church of St. Bartholomew
In the southern part of the county Tržic, near the road leading to the Golnik hospital, lies the village of Senicno. Church together with the walls and the old portal forms the central place of the old village centre.
The late Gothic church with a presbytery tristrano culminating with a star vault was build in the middle of the 15th century. It was extended during the Baroque (second half of 18th century). The side altar of St. Florian and St. Mary Snow were made by Janez Vurnik in 1890. On the main altar table stands a statue of St. Bartholomew. Frescos in the presbytery, painted by a local painter between 1480 and 1490, follow the traditional iconographic principle of the so called carniolan presbytery. All walls, the vault and the side of the arch by the altar are painted. In the heavily Baroque-influenced nave only fragments of the frescos (by the Master Bolfgang's workshop, 1490-1500) remain.
Church is surrounded by the church wall with the portal, which was made in the year 1738.
A traveller can rest on a bench under the lime tree. On the opposite side of the wall stands a well with drinking water. If anybody would like to see church from inside contact me as I have a key.
