Karlobag is a nice little spa beneath the Velebit mountains opposite to the island Pag. The village is the only place within the next kilometers with a larger road across the mountains (direction Gospic).
The first croatian settlers came in the 6th and 7th century. Within the next centuries, Karlobag had been under Venetian, Austrian and French rule.
There are several hotels, bars and restaurants, even though Karlobag only has 500 up to 1000 inhabitants.

The cache:
The cache is near a little church or chapel away from the centre. Usually there will be no muggel near the cache. Here you have a nice view of the north part of the village and to the Velebit mountains. Not far from the church it should be possible to park your car. But you have to walk the last meters (you have to pass the church).
The higher T-value is for the last steps, due to the rocky underground. Pay attention to the thorns of the bushes. If you are standing at the coordinates, look to the opposite of the church (so the church will be in your back) - use the hints and spoilers for more help.
Please don't put anything (stones...) above the green mark, since it shall make finding the cache a bit easier...

Karlobag ist ein netter kleiner Badeort unterhalb des Velebitgebirges gegenüber der Insel Pag. Der Ort ist in der näheren Umgebung der einzige Ort mit einer Straßenverbindung ins Hinterland (Richtung Gospic).
Erstmals besiedelt wurde das Gebiet im 6. und 7. Jahrhundert durch Kroaten. Im Laufe der Geschichte war der Ort zwischenzeitlich unter venezianischer, französicher und später unter österreichischer Verwaltung.
Obwohl Karlobag nur etwa 500 bis 1000 Einwohner hat, findet man hier eine ganze Reihe Restaurants, Bars und Hotels.

Zum Cache:
Der Cache befindet sich etwas abseits relativ muggelsicher nahe einer kleinen Kirche oder Kapelle. Von hier hat man einen schönen Blick sowohl auf den nördlichen Teil von Karlobag, als auch auf das Velebitgebirge. In der Nähe der Kirche kann man normalerweise problemlos parken, die letzten Meter zum Cache (an der Kirche vorbei) muss man dann zu Fuss bewältigen.
Die höhere Terrainwertung gilt den letzten Schritten, da hier der Untergrund sehr steinig ist. Außerdem sollte man auf die Dornen der Büsche aufpassen. Wenn ihr die Koordinaten erreicht habt, sucht in entgegengesetzter Richtung von der Kirche (also die Kirche in eurem Rücken). Bitte auch den Hinweis und die Spoilerbilder beachten.
