Geocache Description:

Lewis Carroll's stories of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" were inspiring to me at a young age. I loved the strange characters that came to life and took my imagination to great heights. When I was in the 3rd grade, I took part in my first theater production, as the Rosebud in "Through the Looking Glass", and I have always loved singing along to songs from the Disney version. Though the mysterious Jabberwocky does not make an appearance in the Disney film, the Cheshire Cat does sing the first part of the poem:

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

In my efforts to create a new "Alice" inspired cache, I discovered a hidden gem in Monterey. The Jabberwock Inn, named after the poem from "Through the Looking Glass", is a gorgeous building crafted in 1911 and currently serves as a bed and breakfast. It is nestled on a half-acre of colorful gardens and waterfalls, a lovely setting for a Wonderland cache.

The cache is placed with permission of the property owners. Please feel free to say hello and check out the gardens. Cache size is a smallish-regular. Original favors: deck of cards, Dodo Bird TB, tea, handmade Alice stones, ceramic mushroom, Victorian stickers, queen postage stamp, spool of thread, logbook and pencil. No need to stray off the path or into any bushes or rabbit holes. Please be respectful of the property and do not go at night. Happy caching!

* Frabjous FTF congratulations to da_ewoks! Callooh! Callay! *

NOTE TO ALL CACHERS: Please remember to log your travel bugs! They seem to go missing from this cache, and that makes for an unhappy unbirthday for all.
