Geocache Description:

Quick easy find, two minutes from the road, just off the footpath.

This path runs adjacent to the Ouse Dyke (pretty stream with cyrstal clear water)
and leads to the Netherfield Lagoons, then after a short while the River Trent.

The path is very popular with dog walkers, so watch your footing :-(

The Netherfield Lagoons have quite a history, having been a developed industrial site,
with railway sidings, gravel pits, coal mine waste and slurry pits.

The lagoons are now used mostly by walkers, bird watchers and a wildlife conservation group.
The whole area is fantastic for enjoying a stroll, especially along the banks of the Trent.

British Car Auctions is adjacent to the path and Ouse Dyke,
covering a rather large area with tarmac and vehicles.

New housing is now being developed (April 2021) to the north east.
Fuel, shopping and toilets available in nearby Morrisons and other shops.
McDonalds, Costa, etc. are also nearby - all in Victoria Retail Park.

The log book is in an inner container to help keep it dry,
please make sure log book container is closed properly.

Please also make sure the outer cache lid is tight enough to keep the damp out,
but not so tight that it may become damaged!
(previous containers have been broken by over-enthusiastic cachers)

Hopefully cache is not obvious to the casual muggle eye,
but I would really appreciate some cover when returning,
even if it's the old cacher's "stickouflage".

Thank you! :-)

(this cache will be primarily maintained by Lady Greenfield)
