High Wycombe used to boast a number of furniture factories. This building was once a small niche factory providing a marquetry service to the surrounding manufacturers. Sadly the furniture industry has moved away from High Wycombe and the building is now used as an office. This cache is reasonably easy to find and contains a log and pencil. There is an adjacent car park, but please don't assume you can get a space during office hours.
A brick corbel is a step or a series of steps making the brickwork project farther out from it's original face. There is a fine example to be seen here. High Wycombe was well known for its furniture industry. It was also the first place to link illness to occupational risks. In this case, nasal cancers to the shellac used by French polishers. There was a cluster of the disease in the area that couldn’t be easily explained until researchers began to ask about the sufferers’ occupation.
This cache on the other hand is relatively easy to spot , an ideal cache and dash, perhaps on the way to West Wycombe.
