Geocache Description:

Surf & Turf

This is an interseting spot on the Cape Town "Foreshore" which is rather unknown to locals who dont live or do business in the area.  Commonly known as Jetty Square and Pier Place these areas are part of the reclaimed land on which the Foreshore sits and is in very close proximity to the start of the original pier.   In order to spruce the area up they decided to put some modern artforms in the area.

At the cache site itself is the "surf" related part of this artwork located in Jetty Square.  Think: big fish on a stick.  You'll see when you get there, very interseting.  These pieces are the brainchild of artist Ralph Borland.  (Apparently the infra-red sensors in their noses pick up the movements of passing pedestrians below them and swivel in the direction of that movement - very cool!)

The larger square adjacent to this spot is Pier Place and forms the basis for the "Turf" reference.  Within this square are some awesome life size statues of people doing everyday things.  They are very cool and make for some really good photo opportunities.

Please feel free to post your pics on here.

The cache itself is a micro and the area can get quite full of Muggles so stealth is essential.  You can sit on the corner right next to it though.
