Inglesham is the site of a lost village where only the 11th century church and a farm remains. The glory of this church is the wealth of medieval and earlier wall paintings. There are groups of paintings covering the period from the 13th century to the early 19th century, in some cases overlapping each other up to 7 layers thick. That it has survived is largely due to William Morris, who lived at Kelmscott not far away.
