Geocache Description:

The Bug Tape – pre plans of an assassin

“First, on the East Street, the car was spotted heading north. We had no chance whatsoever to follow at that speed.”
Changing strategy did not succeed. We had to think differently.
In late summer 1983 the micro cassette with the highly confidential and extremely secret bugging recordings of the assassin plans of the prime minister of Sweden was accidently discovered by an unauthorized policeman. This person quickly discovered the high potential of this material and the great value for money by selling it to the press or solely use it for blackmailing. However if this were presented out to the public in the press or otherwise it could danger the world peace at that time and the homeland security for sure. The policeman had to be chased down and stopped by all means.

The policeman was one step ahead and we had great difficulties to keep up the trace. What we found most of the times was little pieces of tracks the he left for us, all to confuse us or what?

A note at the policeman’s desk gave us a phone number. When trying to call that number we discovered that it was missing some numbers. This number seemed to be a hot clue and we really needed to find the missing numbers.
The last trace we found was inside a building. He had dropped a napkin when rushing down a stairway escaping. The napkin gave us some relevant information where to look next. Now we were close to get him. We thought.

Unfortunately that trace was a dead end and this was the end of our success chasing him down. We had lost him and had to put our chase to a rest. It came to our knowledge after a while that he had hidden the tape somewhere. We have since then spent a lot of time trying to track down the hiding place. It is of most importance that this tape gets in safe hands.

Now It’s your turn to get the last and missing pieces to get the tape in safe hands. The policeman died in a mysterious accident Christmas eve 1984 taking the secrets of the tape whereabouts with him in his grave. But we trust in your eager for homeland security and even if the relevance for world peace danger is not likely a threat today, it is very important secrets that needs to be taken care of.
