Geocache Description:

This is a replacement cache. The original cache was a big fat ammo can that was somehow blown to smithereens. This one's only big enough for the smallest of trade items. Here's the original description:

This cache is to commemorate Teampipperice's 2,000th find. I witnessed this phenomenal feat on May 30, 2010 (see log for "Moraga Creek" - GC272RR). We had a bit of pomp and circumstance there, even then TP didn't want to make a big deal about this milestone. Nonetheless, I've been planning this cache for a long time and just couldn't help myself.

The cache is off the main paved trail by about a two or three minute hike through low weeds. I'm adding attributes for snakes and tics only because this is a concern anytime you hike through most of California. In my decades of coming to the Lafayette Reservoir, I've never seen a poisonous snake or tic.

You can access this cache through various routes. The easiest is to park on top of the reservoir's dam. There are parking meters that charge 25 cents per 15 minutes, and this cache would take at least an hour. Or, pay $6 for all-day parking and you could find all 20 (as of June 4, 2010) of the caches at “The Res". You could also park for free at the end of Paseo Grande in Moraga, but it's a very steep hike with about a 350' elevation difference.

Here's to TP's next thousands of finds!
